Dunham brought up the matter of compen ation for Johnnie <br />Thornton due to injury received while on duty for the City. <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Johnson, that Johnnie Thornton be <br />paid for one weekts salary plus doctor bill. <br />Carried. <br />Aldermen Johnson, Smith, Norris, Dunham and Roark made short <br />talks offering their cooperation, if needed, to the newly e- <br />lected Commissioners. • <br />Mayor Ruff expressed his appreciation to the Aldermen for their <br />in helping to overcome the obstacles with which they were con- <br />fronted while in office. Mayor Ruff also advocated the Home <br />Rule form of government for La Porte which he believes is the <br />only administration in which a City can properly progress and <br />hopes that the future growth will give the City the power to <br />L_ <br />
