• <br />MINUTES -Special Meeting <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION <br />~y 23, 194?, l0:3o A. ~. <br />Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order <br />by Mayor Pfeiffer with the following members and Officials <br />present: Commissioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr., City. Clerk J. E. <br />Muldoon and City Attorney Jno. S. Kiibler. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Pfeiffer to authorize Raleigh <br />Erwin to pnrch.ase welding equipment for the purpose of <br />maintaining City property. <br />Carried. <br />i7~ <br />Motion by Crate, second by Pfeiffer that ~Iohnnie Thornton's <br />wage be increased to $1.00 per hour and Asoencion Amaro be <br />increased to x.90 cents per hour, effective as of May 23, 194.7. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Pfeiffer, second by Crate to authorize Norris and <br />Stanford to dig ditch from Eleventh Avenun to Twelfth Avenus <br />same being a new ditch, and refill ®ld ditch, grubb tree, <br />remove old drainpipe in Alley, remove old pipe on Twelfth <br />;;,~,, Avenue and South First Street, and furnish and install culvert <br />pipe for same for the total sum of Two Hundred Ten 0210.00) <br />dollars. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Pfeiffer, second by Crate that when J. N. King <br />completes digging ditch at the disposal site, and when same is <br />approved by Crate that he be paid 0200.00) Two Hundred <br />dollars as agreed. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Pfeiffer that the Surety Bonds <br />of J. E. Muldoon, Raleigh Erwin, Eula Erwin and R. P, Osborne <br />be approved. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Pfeiffer that the. folls~ring <br />resolution be adopte~.s <br />WHEREAS, on the 9th day of May, 194.7, the City <br />Commission of La Porte, Texas, appointed E. E. Boone <br />Mayor:: of the City, and <br />WIiEREAS, on said day, the said E. E. Boone qualified <br />as Mayor and filed his bond in the sum of Three Thousand <br />Dollars 03,000.00) excuted by the Maryland Casualty Company, <br />Baltimore, Maryland, as Surety, and <br />WHEREAS, said bond was accepted and lpproved by said <br />City Commission, and <br />WH~EAS, later on the same day the said E. E. Boone <br />resigned from the off ice of Mayor and his resignation 'was <br />accepted by the Co~mnission, and <br />
