Crate Jr., <br />Erwim, Repreaentat Ives <br />Hedrick City Engineer, <br />door, City Clerk. <br />City Cormnission vas called to order by Mayor <br />caving members and officials present: Commiseion- <br />Jas. E. Stewart, Supt. of Public ~Torks Raleigh <br />John T. Mc Afee and Mr. Mmes for Myatt C. <br />City Attonaoy Jno. S. Kiibler, and J. E. Mul- <br />yir. ~Fna. Baugh, Mr. :`iiltom Beok and Mr. Geo. Crate, of the La Porte <br />Chamber of Commerce Planning Board, reported that their committee <br />thought the plans for the proposed sewer system were good, however <br />they were much too elaborate for the City of La Porte, and did .not <br />think it feasible ,for the city to spend so much money at this time, <br />and went on reoord that the plans be rejected and be redesigned. <br />Motion by Stewart, second by Crate to approve the present plans <br />with modifications, tieing the present sewer system into the <br />new proposed system between lift stat i,cn$ One and Two. <br />Carried. <br />L. E. Erwin made his report befora the Commission on his survey <br />of the water meters and pluming on water accounts that seemed <br />unusually high. His fin~ixgs were that in about 98 0 of the cases <br />the plumbimg was found to be defective, especially the commodes. <br />Motion by Crate, seoond by Stewart to employ Ernest L. Browm Jr. <br />and Me Clung and Knickerbocker, under their joint proposal, con- <br />sideration being a oash fee of X5,250.00, this fee to be paid out <br />of the proceeds from the sale of the bonds, axid shall become due <br />when all or any part of these bonds have bees sold, delivered and <br />paid for. However, in the event the bond election fails to carry <br />or for any reason the city is unable to complete the issuance of <br />these bonds, then the city shall not be obligated to pay the <br />X5,250.00, but the city shall pay a X1000.00 cash fee as reim- <br />bursement for their time and expenses . <br />Carried. <br />Motioxt by Stewart, seoond by Crate to have city traffic signs <br />repainted and worded. <br />Carried. <br />'Motion by Crate, second by Stewart to pay J. N.
