7 a.~ <br />.. 87 <br /> <br />MIb?UTES -SPECIAL MEETING <br />I91 <br />L_J <br /> <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION - NOVEMBER 28th,19l~7 <br />10:00 A.M. <br />Special meeting of the City Commission was. called to order by Mayor <br />Pfeiffer with the following members and city officials present: Com- <br />missioners Jas. S. Crate Jr. and Jas. E. Stewart, Supt. of Public <br />'Norks Raleigh Erwin, City Attorney Jno. S. Kiibler, and City Clerk <br />J. E. Muldoon. <br />The City Commission instructed the City Clerk to write a letter to <br />Mr. Jim Douglass, District Engineer with the State Highway Department, <br />and request that they install two signal traffic lights, one at Five <br />Points interseotion and the other at hest Main and 10th Streets, both <br />being hazardous intersections. <br />The Commission also instructed the City Clerk to write Mr. Jim Doug- <br />lass and request that the State Highway Department install two culverts <br />on the East side of Highway 225, one at North "A" Street and the other <br />at North "C" Street. <br />Motion by Crate, seoond by Stewart that the City Clerk increase the <br />librarian city check from $2.50 per month to $5.00 per month, same <br />being effective immediately. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, seoond by Stewart that Ordinance No. 3l~9, being <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FIRE LIMITS; REGULATING BUILDING CONSTRUC- <br />TION AND ALTERATIONS; PROVIDING FOR PERMITS AND FEES; AND PROVIDING <br />THE FOLLOWING: ANY PERSON VIOLATING ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS <br />ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTS OF A MISDEMEANOR, AND UPON CONVIC* <br />TION SHALL BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT TO EXCEID X100.00.
