M. <br /> <br />93 <br />Speoial meeting of the City Coanmission was called to order by Mayor <br />Pfeiffer with the following members and city officials pres~+.t: <br />Commissioners Jas. S. Crate Jr. enn.d Jas. E. Stewart, Supt. of Public <br />Works Raleigh Erwin, City Attorney Jno.S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J. <br />E. Muldoon. <br />The Mayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the <br />matter of employment of Ernest A. Knipp, a practicing attorn,~y of <br />Harris County, to represent the City and City officials, Defendants <br />in a suit filed in the District Court of Harris County, by E. ,A. <br />Tha:nas and others. After discussion, upon motion by Crate, second <br />by Stewart, and carried, Ernest A. Knipp was employed as oounsel for <br />the City in the suit, Por a retainer fse of X1000.00, plus X100.00 <br />per day in Court, exclusive of the first day. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Stewart, that Ordinance No. 352, being <br />.AN ORDINANCE EMPLOYIDTG A LICENSED AND PRACTICING ATTORNEY OF HARRIS <br />COUNTY, TEKAS, TO DEFEND THE CaY OF LA PORTE AND THE CITY OFFICIALS <br />IN THE SUIT FILED IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY BY E.
