Special meeting of the City ComQaission was called to order by B~ayor H. J. Pfeiffer, <br />with the following members and city officials -present: Comtmissioa~ers Jas. S. Crate, <br />Jr. and Jas. E. Stewart, Supt. of Public VPorks Raleigh Erwin, City Attorney Jno. S. <br />Kiibler, and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon. <br />Motiarci by Stewart, seoond by Crate, to shell that portion of I~th Street, frown "J" <br />S~Creet to "H" Street. - <br />Carried. <br />The Commlesia~ instructed the City Clerk to write the State Highway Department for <br />permission for the Bayshore Garden Club, to plant palm trees on State Highway No• <br />1?~6 and "g" and 1~6 and Donaldson Avenue. <br />Mr. James De Lowder, representing the South Texas Equipment Cormpany, offered the city <br />a used Galion Grader for X6,750, with fifteen months to pay. The Commission advised <br />Mr. De Lewder that they would let him lmox of their action by the next Monday. <br />Motion by Stewart, second by Crate, to accept deed given to the city by A. A. Smith, <br />on property desoribed as Lots 5 to 28, both inclusive, in Blook l~19, Town of La Porte, <br />consideration being the oanoellatioai of his personal liability for .City of Ie~. Porte <br />ad valorem taxes aocrued. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Stewart, second by Crate, that the Following Resolution be adopted: <br />RES OLtIT I ON <br />Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of La Porte, Texas, <br />that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of La Porte be, and they are hereby, author- <br />iced and instructed to execute and deliver a Deed, without warranty, to ]l. 8. "Gene" <br />Bailey, conveying Lots No. Five (5) to Twenty-Eight (28), inclusive, in Blook No. <br />Four Hundred Nineteen (1.19) of the Toes of La Porte, in Harris County, Texas, in <br />consideration of the sum of Ten Dollars 010.00) and the assumption and payyment of <br />City oP La Porte delinquent ad valorem taxes against said property. And ~.t is so <br />ordered. <br />Carried. <br />
