M. <br />Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order by bleyor <br />Pfeiffer, v~*ith the follovu:ing members and city officials present: Jas. <br />S. Crate Jr. and Jas. E• Stewart, Supt. of Public Works Raleigh Erwin, <br />John T. Me Afee and John Withers, representing ~'Pyatt C. Hedriclr, City <br />Engineer, A. H. Lambert, Editor anal owner of the La Porte Reporter, <br />City Attorney Jno. S. Kiib]er, ar~.d J. E. Nkxldoon, City Clerk. <br />William Crenshaw also appeared before the Commission in quest of news. <br />1~ilton Beak appeared before the Commission. and requested the City <br />Commission to write a letter in his behalf to the Texas State Board <br />of Plumbing Examiners, requesting they issue him. a Master Plumberts <br />License without examination. Motion by Crate, sea and by Stewart to <br />authorize the City Clerk to write a letter to the Texas State Board <br />of Pluz~.bing Examiners as requested by Mr. Beck. <br />Carried. <br />The City Commission instructed the City Clerk to vrrite the State High- <br />way Department relative to traffic lights at West Main and State Hj,gh- <br />,way No• 225, and Five Points intersection (State Highways Number 225 <br />and ].J~.6.) Also find out what consideration had been given to our <br />s,pplication for curb and gutter,as set out in our lettlzr dated August <br />1, 19.7 • <br />Motion by Stewart, second by Crate to authorize the City Clerk to <br />"Offer to Purchase" fram the War Assets Administration, 300 all metal <br />folding chairs. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Stewart, second by Crate to approve contracts with Ed Niles <br />and Mo ~3.11an Can.struetion C©., Inc. and authorizing the hrayor and City <br />Clerk to sign both contracts. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Stewart, second by Crate, that the meeting ad3ourn. <br />Carried. <br />103 <br />TTP;~JT : <br />~~ 1 ~` <br />u oon C y Cler of a H.
