4oa <br />ordinance No. 395 <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FCIt THE CONSTRUCTION A~ MAINTENANCE OF THE PORTION C&' <br />STATE HI(~WAY N0. ~ IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TE7LAS, BEREIN- <br />ABOVE REFERRID TO AS "THE STREET PROJECT" AND AV,PHORIZ ING THE MAYOR OF THE <br />CITY T O EXECUTE AND THE CITY SECRETARY T 0 AFFIX THE CORPORATE SEAL AND ATTEST <br />THE SAI~dE, A CERTAIN CONTRACT BETV~EN T$E CITY AND THE STATE OF TEXAS PROVIDING <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION, CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, EXISTENCE AND U5E OF THE <br />SAID STREET PROJECTS FOR THE INDEMNIFICAT IE7N OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, BY THE CITY <br />AGAINST ALL DAMAGES TO ADJOINING, ABBUTING AND OTHER. PROPERTY, A1~D FOR EXPENSES <br />IN CONNECTION ~YITH ANY CLAIM OR BUTT THEREOF: AND DDCLARING AND I~RGENCY AND <br />PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE EFFECTIVE FROM AND AFTER 1TS PASSAGE. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Crate, second by James, de~sig~ating tha First National Bank of La- <br />Porte, Texas, as the City's Depository, and authorisi~sg the Mayor and City <br />Clerk to sign aoutraat with the bank, containing the same terms ae existing <br />c®ntraat. <br />Carried. <br />Mr. Geo. Mo Millan requested to place a gasoline tank under the Sidewalk on <br />1~th Street, and request was unanimously denied. <br />Carried. <br />Meti©an by Janes, second by Crate, to pay Myatt C. Hedrick ~i~,2a9~5, out of <br />the. Street Improvement Feed, and ~t529.95, out of the Revenue. Bond' Fund, in <br />accordance with his statements. <br />Carried. <br />Upon motion by Crate, seconded by Jones, this. mooting was racossed at 1:()Q <br />P. M., until l~st')O A. M. <br />The Mayor called tc- order the meeting which was recessed at 1 :f30 P. lt., l[arah <br />3®, lg5t~, with the following members ar8 city officials presort: Commisaieners <br />Jas. S. Crate, Jr., and 1~n. P. Jones, and J. E. Muldoon, City Clerk. <br />A discussion was held relative to the enlarging and extending the boundary limits <br />sf the City of La P®rte, which were set out in Ordinance Ns. 392, and passed on <br />January I9th, 1950. <br /> <br /> <br />~~ <br />
