<br />hINt3T~:S - REGULt~.R MEETING <br />LA PORTS CITY CO~,:MISSION -APRIL 27, 195a <br />lo:ao A. ~, <br />Regu].~r meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. J. <br />Pfeiffer, with the following members anal city officials present: Commissioners <br />Jas. S. Crate, Jr., and iil~n. P. Jones, City attorney Carl C. Patrick, Supt. of <br />Public ~orlss Raleigh Ervrin, Wm. Maness, representing ~'~ratt C. Hedriok, City ~.- <br />gineer, and J. E. ~xldoon, City Clerk. <br />~' lUtayor Charles W. Peaxee of Deer Pkrk, appeared before°the Commission and. reques- <br />ted the City to relinquish a part of the City of La Porte's new territory which <br />is° adjacent to the City of Deer Park. <br />The Commissioners spoke in favor of relinquishing this small strip, and referred <br />1 the matter to their City Attorney for an opinion on whethor or not it could be <br />legally done. <br />I~tion by Crate, second by Jones, instruoting the City Clerk to pay Century Con- <br />struction Company, balanoe of ~715.1b on their Contractor's Estimate No. 5. <br />Carried. <br />The City Clerk presented eertificato which certified the results of the City <br />'``,f Election held on April 25, 1950, to the Presiding Judge, Mrs. hallie Wright, <br />to the Mayor and Cormnissioaiers. The Tally List was examined by the P~iayor .and <br />the Commissioners. The Mayor then declared the results of the election, and <br />announced that the following candidates had been elected to their respective <br />offices: <br />Harold J. Pfeiffor - Mayor - 157 Voters <br />Jas. S. Crate, Jr. - Commissioner - 15t~ Votes <br />ti'~illiam P. Jones - Commissioner - 159 Votes <br />These officers ~~rere notified to make proper bond and take the oath of office <br />at the next regular meeting, and to assume office. <br />V~horeupon mcstion by Crate, seconded by Jones, and oarriod by unanimous voto, <br />that the elective offices be required to furnish a Surety Bond in the amount <br />of X3040.00. <br />Carried. <br />&iotion by Jones, second by Crato, to terminate the employment of j. E. Bolding <br />as Building and Plumbing Inspector. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />
