M. <br />Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order by I~~yor ~[. D. <br />Burgin, with the follrn~ring meubers and city officials present: Com~.i.ssioners <br />L. R. Rigby ~d Robert A.White, City Attorney Fdw~d J. Cade, Supt. of Public <br />;~;~orks ~Y. A. Arthur, arrl City Clerk J. E. I' uldoon. <br />1.tinutes of the last meeting vrere read and approved. <br />A~lr. Robert Milwee, Jr., an engineer, appeared before the Commission and and <br />stated he would like to be considered for their engineer when the City selected <br />an engineer for the proposed street paving program. He also stated he intended <br />to make La Porte his home. <br />The Commission infar~med Mr. ~tilwee that he would be considered, but at this <br />time the bond issue had not been passed, and an engineer had not yet been con- <br />sid Bred. <br />_ A discussion was held on the recurring trouble with the belt operating the <br />blowers at the Disposal Plant, which was installed, under the supervision of <br />J. M. ~ldhite ~d Sons. After a lengthy discussion, the Commission instructed <br />- the City Attorney to write a. letter to J. M. ?'Vhi.te ~d Sons, with a copy of <br />the letter to the sub-contractor, calling his attention to the provisions <br />in his contract that proper installation would b e made to all equipment. N.1r. <br />1'~.rthur, Public 'lorks Superintendent, would furnish Mr. Cade, City 'attorney, <br />name and address of sub-contractor. <br />Motion by ~!Y~ite, secorxi by Rigby, to dismiss ~lti7.ton Hartman, with one weeks s <br />no~ti.ce, and to employ T. F. Smith in his place. <br />Carried. <br />The Commission unanimously agreed to furnish seYrer pipe (gratis) for Block No. <br />- 66, La Porte, if the propoxty otmers r~rould lay the pipe.
