<br />A discussion ~~1as held on grass on vacant lots in the City of La Porte. After
<br />much discussion on this matter, the Commission unanimous7~y authorized the I:iayor
<br />to contact the C~i.ty Attorney, I:Lr, Cade, for the S~Triting of a contract,~~rtth some-
<br />one to cut the grass for the hay on these vacant lots.
<br />lotion by ??Ihite, second by Rigby, authorizing the City Clerk to pay notes in the
<br />amount of X15,000.00, to the bank, out of current general fund monies.

<br />Ildotion by ?'ihi.te, second by Rigby, authorizing the payment in the amount of
<br />430,00, for three sheep and one lamb, to H. J. Pfeiffer, otiuner.

<br />The City Clerk presented to t he Commission an adjustm~t on t axes off Bred by
<br />ls. "rharton deems, for tY~ years of 1950 and 1951 on his properties. After
<br />looking over the ~talues offered by I,~. :teems, the Commission unanimously denied
<br />his request for a reduction of value. They held the City s Equalization Board
<br />had h eld meetir~~s ~~-ith property owners and that the values placed upon these
<br />blocks ~-rere the same placed upon adjacent blocks, that persons otr~ning property
<br />in this area paid taxes without complaint, and that the value is assessed at
<br />not mare than the reasonable cash market value.
<br />The City ~`lerk presented signed contract on virtually all. the property crb~rners
<br />on the contemplated sewer line to Block 103, La Porte, and stated -that he had
<br />enough signed vrhere tiny could construct said seo~er main.
