11.6 <br /> <br />r1 <br />LJ <br />The City Clerk read a letter fron the Texas $i.gY~vay Department, in which they <br />requested additional info¢~mation on the plans submitted to than for paving <br />and drainage'in front of the new school located on Highv~ay 146. <br />This matter Tras turned over to A. B. ~~oore, F~gineer, to furnish them with <br />the additional inf carmation. <br />Iv2otion by Rigby, second by ~1hi.te, authorizing the City Clerk to issue C. E. <br />(;um~.ngs a Certificate of Commission, to act as an Auxiliary Policeman.. <br />Carried. <br />The City Clerk read a letter from fl~Ioore & Moore, in connection ~crith their <br />drainage in front of 530 Broadway, or Block 109, La Porte. <br />The Come~.ssion ordered the letter placed on file. <br />The Commission instructed the City Clerk to write The League of Texas flduni- <br />cipaLities, for cagy of Ordinances and opinions dealing with livestock, in- <br />clud~ng chickens, rabbits, etc. <br />Mr. Al Pdiller appeared befc~'e the Commission irz connection with I~.s water <br />hook-up tid.th ~~r. H,G. Frier. <br />After much discussion, the Commission advi sed him they tivould try to work out <br />something that would be satisfactory to both of them. <br />The City Clerk read a letter from the Church of Christ, in which they requested <br />the City place traffic signs in the proldrdty of their church, located on <br />~-C~ay 7-46. <br />This letter was turned aver to the Supt. of Public 1~orks, ~d.A. Arthur, to make <br />a survey of the need of these signs. <br />The City Clerk read a letter from E. H. Cole, written in behalf of Mr, H. A. <br />Nesbit, who claims he is the ov~raer of Lots 1,5, 16~ 17, Block 66, B~,y Front. <br />These lots were quit Claimed to the City of La Porte by the Temple Lumber <br />Compar~y. Mr. Nesbit offered to sell these Lots to the City of La Porte f or <br />~35o.O0, ar~d the City assume any outstanding taxes. <br />The City rejected this offer, for reason theyf elt the price was high, and re- <br />ferred the matter to the City Attorney to ascertain the record ov~ner. <br />
