Burgin, <br />with the following members and city officials present: Commissioners L. R. Rigby <br />and H. P. Pfeiffer, Supt. o.f Public '~r'Jorks ~N.A. Arthur, Special Counsel Jno. S. <br />Kiibinr, and City Clerk J.E. IGZu].doon. <br />I~.tiinutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Mr. John C. hdc Corquodale, representing the Bayshore Radio Club, appeared before <br />the Commission and requested a five year lease renewal to the tower and. adjacent <br />building which they are now occupying. <br />Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, that lease agreement be granted. <br />Carried. <br />The Harris County Health Officer inforrced the City that the County would assume <br />the full cost of the present County dog vaccination program, providing the City <br />of La Porte will increase it's effort to control it's dogs. The City agreed to <br />make a greater effort. <br />The Commission unanimously agreed to place the necessary safety signs at Virginia <br />and "H" <br />The Commission unanimously instructed `JV. A. Arthur, Public ~`Iorks Superintendent, to <br />open ditches on South Lobit, and empty water into natural drain running through <br />Blocks 23 and 27, Bay Front Addition; also to order 2 - 21~" culverts, if needed. <br />I~4otion by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby, to shell. North Polk two (2) blocks, to State <br />Higl-iway 225. <br />Carried. <br />The Mayor opened and read the bids on street signs to be used on the streets of <br />the City of La Porte. The bids were as f ollot~rs <br />Kistler Distributing Co. - !~ ~'~tay Pedestal Assembly X9.30 <br />Ferro Enameling Co. - !~-~Vay Pedestal Assembly 6.80 F.O.B. CaJ_if. <br />after much discussion, upon motion by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby, contract was let <br />to Ferro Enameling Company, fcm 55 ~=~Vay Pedestal Assembly. <br />Carried. <br />The Commission unanimously instructed the City Clerk to nmite IV1~'s. Rosa L<~e Brown <br />and request that she move her house off Ohio Street, act the corner of Lot 1.5, Block <br />Il, Bay Front Addition. <br />255 <br />Carried. <br />
