Buurgin~ <br />with the folhring members and city officials present: Commissioners L. R. <br />Rigby and H. P. Pfeiffer, Public Worl® Supt. W. A. Arthur, Special Counsel Jno. <br />S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon. <br />~fiA,utes of the last meeting Were read and approved. <br />Mr. James Lileat appeared before the Commission, representing, Mr. F.A. Gour:er, <br />L. B. Mergenthaleac and lam. N. D. Fountain, to see in ghat manner they Would <br />go about in securing a sewer main to be constzucted in the Alley of Block 73, <br />Bay Front Addition. <br />The Commission advised II+~. Liles that i~' the four resident owners would de- <br />posit With the City approximately ~1t20.00, the City wnul.d give th em a contract <br />which would enable them to recover some of the money they paid for constructing <br />the aew~er main through Block 73, Bay Front Addition. <br />Mr. Liles stated that he Would t alk to the other reside:t owners, and then let <br />the City Commission kna+r of their decision. <br />Mr. Alwyn S. Koehler and Mr. J., Brcwrn, representing Wyatt C. Hedrick, Architesct- <br />Engineer, appeared before ~ e Commission and gave the City a tentative fYgure of <br />X60,000.00 for constaucting saner mains in Sylvan Beach Addition, also mains <br />South and Northwest La Porte. Same changes were made, and upon final. estimate <br />Mr. Eb~st L. Brea, Jr., the City+s bond advisor would be called ixi far further <br />discussion on the natter. <br />A discussion was held on the City+s Registrar, and no further action was taken <br />on this matter. <br />Mr.'W. A. Arthur, Public V~arks Supt., requested permission from the Commission <br />to burn out the grass ar~d weeds in the city ditches. <br />The Commission unanimously grated Mr. Arthur his request, except those ditches <br />in the .~.re zone. <br />Carried. <br />The City Commission voted unanimously in favor of placing all city empl®y+ees <br />under Social Security', axed instructed Special Counsel Jfio. S. Kiibler to secure <br />necessary information in setting up the plan. <br />Carried. <br />Mr. moo. S. Kiibler, Special Counsel for the City, made a report of his ea~aa- <br />ination of the agreements made by the City and the State Highway Department, <br />on street signs. <br /> <br />
