M. <br />The City Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas met in Special session at <br />the r egular meeting place within s ~d.d City. on the 13th day of January, 1955, <br />with the following members presents <br />M.D.&u~g~.n Mayan <br />L. Muldoon City Clerk <br />when the following bus3r~ess was transacted: <br />The Mayor introduced a Resolution and moved its adoption. The Resolution Ras <br />read in full and Commissioner H. P. Pfeiffer moved that it be adopted as read. <br />The motion was seconcl.eci vy Coammissioner L. R, Rigby and carried by the folloari.ng <br />vote : AYF~5 : Mayor Burgin, C oanmis scone rs Rigby and Pfeiffer. NOES : Nore . The <br />Resolution thus adopted follows <br />RESOLUTION CANVASSIlaG R,ETtRNS AND DECLARIlVG RESULTS <br />OF BOND ELECTION <br />WHEREAS, there was held in the City of La Porte, Texas, on the 8th day <br />of January, 1955, an election at which was submitted to th,e duly qualified <br />residexit electors of s aid City who am taxable property within said City and <br />who had duly r endered the saw for taxation, far their action thereupon, the <br />following <br />PROPOSITION <br />SHALL THE CITY COM[~LCSSION OF THE CTPY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS BE <br />AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE AMJUNT OF <br />$60,000, MATiRIl~'s SERIALLY WITHIN THIRTY (30) YEARS FROM THEIR <br />DATE OR DATES, AND BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT 7.U EgCEID <br />FOUR (!~) PFR CENT' PER ANNUM, FDR THE ACQUISITION OF A CAP- <br />ITAL PROJECT, TO~PIT: IMPROVIlJG AND EXTEtdDING THE CITY'S SAN- <br />ITARY SEAfFR SYSTEM, AND TO LEVY TAXES ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY <br />WITHIlJ SAID CITY SUFFICSEN7.'
