• <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />LA PORTE CITY COM6~SSION -APR. 17, 1959 <br />?:30 P. ~. <br />Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P. <br />Pfeiffer, with the following present : Commissioners Boyle, Brows, Lawler <br />and Osburn, Supt. ~P.A. Arthur, City Clerk Frank G.Baker, and Special Counsel <br />Jno. S. Kiibler. <br />Also present were Joe Dunham, Bill Baugh, Bob Gaylar, Dennis Dunham, Carl <br />Leach, J. 0. Rollins and Mr. O~Sullivan, <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Carried. <br />Hospital insurance for city employees was disa~ssed, and was carried over,. <br />to be brought up on Friday, April 2l~th, at 7:00 P, M. <br />Motion by Boyle, secorbd by Lawler, that Geo. Norris be appointed to the Zoning <br />`J Board, to replace A. P. Pfeiffer, <br />Carried. <br />Mr. 0 ~ Sullivan wanted to knoaP the feeling of the Cc~nm;.ssion on helping to <br />open and widen 11th Street. Mr. Arthur and Commissioner Brown wi11 meet <br />with Mr. O~Sullivan Monday morning. <br />Cormiissioners Osburn and Brown recommended that Dixie Tank and Bridge <br />Company s Mr. Laws be conrtacted, and go over contract to repair elevated <br />water tank. <br />The Commission will discuss bond issue on Friday, April 2~.th, at 7:00 P.M. <br />Motion by Boyle, second by Brvnra, that Supt. Arthur be instructed to remove <br />posts along Spencer Highway in front of Hou-Port Airport, and repair fence <br />in front of Cliff I~rde ~ s Flying Service. <br />Carried, <br />Motion by Boyle, second by Osburn, that Bayshore Baptist Church request <br />be granted. <br />Carried, <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Brc~+m, that Commissioner Osborn be authorizeel to <br />purchase t9ro tool banes fc~r new trucks @ X380.66, <br />,~ <br />Carried, <br />
