.e'~~
(6) Letter No. 2 will advise the delinquent that unless taxes are paid
within 30 days, then this item will be submitted to the attorney and the attorney
will be instructed to carry this matter through to a suit. It is the intent that
at this point the district officials will determine that a suit is to be filed,
it being the consensus of opinion that no threat to sue should be made until it
has been firmly determined that suit will be filed.
(7) The attorney is, of course, to be authorized to take all appropriate
steps. However, it is contemplated that he will send out a notice advising the
delinquent that his delinquent taxes have been turned over to him for court action,
if necessary, and that he intends to proceed with such action without further
notice.
r
(8) It was determined that at this point we would deal only with delin-
quent taxes within the city limits of the City of La Porte, and that all action on
these items would, as nearly as possible, be simultaneous and that all expenses
would be paid 50~ by the City and 50~ by the Schools.
(9) It was determined that at least for the time being delinquent taxes
due the School District by those taxpayers outside the city limits of the City of
La Porte would be treated separately by the School District which will follow the
same procedure outlined above.
(10) The City and School District will each file a like number of suits
simultaneously, as the program progresses.
John Kiibler, Sr.
Richard Osborne
• Frank Baker
Ernest L.
