<br />MINUTES - REGLtLAR MEETING <br />n` ` LA PORTE CITY COD~dISSION -SEPT. 2, 1960 <br />~~ 7:00 P. M. <br />~ ~;~ <br />~~°~~ Regular meet3r~g of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P. <br />3:~ <br />~;; Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Canmissioners Brown, Dunham <br />and Stabs (Osborn absent), Attorney C. L. Pitman, and City Clerk Frank G. <br />ro Baker. <br />t.~a <br />;;~, Also present were City employee Dick Cunningham, Jim Holley and Elsie Moore, <br />~` (Press). <br />°°~ Mirn2tes of the last special and regular meetings were read and approved, <br />~~ <br />~ Carried. <br />The item of parking at the football field was discussed at length, and the <br />~ problem of taking care of the cro~nds that are expected at the new stadium. <br />Cunmi.ssioner Stabs will contact school officials and work out the problem. <br />~:a <br />Motion by Stabs, second by Brown, that the Auxiliary Police policy be <br />renewed with the La Porte Insurance Agency. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Brown, that the Mayor be authorized to contact <br />City Attorney Pitman and Ernest L . Broarn, Jr., and formulate a resolution <br />to submit at a future meeting, pertaining to Mr. Duncan's request to City. <br />Carried. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked for the sewer construction bids to be opened. Three <br />bids were opened, as follows: <br />L. H. "Sonny" Mc Key X3,600.00 <br />Bayshore Construction Co, 2,927.11 <br />Sour Contractors, Inc. <br />Motion by Stabs, second by Brown, that the bids be turned over to Corrnniss- <br />~~1 <br />Toner Brown to be tabulated. <br />Carried. <br />~+r <br />}}~ <br />11~~ Motion by Stabs, second by Brown, that Ordinance No. 616, be adopted as read. <br />The ordinance provides for the sale by the City of La Porte of a 50,000 gallon <br />.„ elevated steel water tank, to the Automatic Sprinkler Company, Inc., of <br />'' Dallas, Texas, on their high bid of X622.00. <br />Carried, <br />Motion by Stabs, second by Brown, that Ordinance No. 617, be adopted as read. <br />~; The caption of such adopted ordinance reads as follows: <br />°~ AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF CIVIL DE~1SE <br />~ ~R TPE CITY 0-F LA FORTE, <br />Carried. <br />
