<br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked that bids on Block # 4, Bay Front, be opened. Four bids <br />were received as follows: <br />Guy R. Davidson X63,628.00 <br />Lloyd Frazier 2,829.0? <br />Chas. N©rris 15.i.00 <br />Robert Breaker 2,800.00 <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that all bids on Block # 4, Bay Front, be <br />tabled for further consideration. <br />Carried. <br />M:stion by Stabs, second by Brown, that Mr. Art Janssen be paid salarT in <br />full for inspection fees due him from City, in the a~aount of X1,750.00. <br />Carried. <br />Commissioner D~ham asked the Commission for permission to use the Council <br />chambers f®r a book reviex by the Executive Bayard of the Libraz~. The <br />Commission felt that they should first try to find another place and could <br />as a la§t resort use the Council chambers. <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Brown, that Mr. Geo. Lunday be employed as dog <br />catcher at $1.25 per dog. <br />Carried. <br />M©tion by Stabs, second by Dunham, that the City Commission go on rec®rd <br />and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign Resolution, favoring Stadium <br />Bonds to be voted on January 31, 1961; also that they are in favor of a~aendi.ng <br />the Harris C®uxity Road Law Section 31-C, as follows: <br />So as to hereafter permit Cvmmissioners~ Court to accept roads <br />which have a right of way of less than six ty (60) feet when in <br />their judgment it is to be best interest of the taxpayer. <br />And to permit the Commissioners Court to determine which arter- <br />ial roads within, or passing through a City, town of village, are <br />to be maintained by Harris County. <br />Section 31-C. Hereafter, in a squiring rights of way for roads in <br />Harris County, the Commissioners Court shah determine the width <br />of the right of way required, and establish the lines and align- <br />ment of the r®ad. All field notes of roads so established and <br />determined shall be filed with the Commissioners Court and be <br />recorded on the Road Log of Harris County, and n© expenditures <br />shall be made by the ComEni.ssioners Court upon any roads not <br />carried on the Road Log. <br />The Commi.asioners Court shalt deterbdxie the width of rights of <br />way for roads laid out, established or accepted for construction <br />or for maintenance. When in the ~udgaeht of Con~i.ssio~aers Court <br />a saving of county funds can be made, such rights of way less than <br />60 feet in width :eay be laid out, established or accepted, and the <br />order of the Comfn3.ssioners Court must state that it wo~t7.d be of <br />benefit to the taxpayer to do so, and the reasons therefor. <br />
