~ i <br />MINUTES - REGULAR FETING <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION - MARCH 3RD, 19b1 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />Regular meeting of the City Gommission was called to order by Mayor H. P. <br />Pfeiffer, with the following members present : Commissioners Browny Stabs, <br />Duxzhaua and Osborn, Supt. W,A,A rthur, Attorney Pitatan and City Clerk Frank <br />G. Baker. <br />Also present were James Pitchford, J. L. Ti}imicili, W. B. Rhoden, D. W. <br />Reaves, A~ H, Viebig, I. R. Pitchford, V. C. Pizzitola, and Mrs. Brummerhop, <br />(Press). <br />Mr. D W. Reaves appeared before the Commission to protest the building that <br />Mr. Pitchford is constructing for Mr. Dimicili, which building is 15 feet <br />outside the 25' requirement from property line, which is required by the <br />Zoning Ordinance. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer stated that the Commission had no alternative other than to <br />request that the building be moved back to the required distance from prop- <br />erty line (25'). <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Stabs, that Commissioner Osborn be authorized <br />to send a man to the Texas Water and Sewage Works Association in College <br />Station. <br />Carried. <br />I~tion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that Commissioner Dunham be authorized <br />to send Mr.Dan Kennedy to the swimming pool school in College Station. <br />Carried, <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Brown, that the bid and purchase of the steel <br />foists from Joists, Inc., be ratified. The three bids were as follows: <br />Southwest Steel Products X450.00 <br />Republic Steel Corporation 477.00 <br />Joists, Inc. 385.00 <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Brown, that Ordinance No. 626 be adopted as <br />read. The caption of such adopted ordinance reads as follow: <br />AN ORDINANCE CALLING THE REGULAR ANNUM:, ELECTION OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR A POLLING PLACE; <br />APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIAIS; PRAVIDING FOR RETURN AND <br />CANVASS OF VOTES OF SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; <br />PROVIDING FOR FILING FEES FOR CANDIDATES; AND PROVIDING <br />A SAVINGS CLAUSE. <br />Carried. <br />
