• • <br />He stressed to the department heads the impor- <br />;~ tance of good public relations, and asked that they instill <br />in the employees the need for continuous good public relations <br />in their service to the citizenry. Mayor Pfeiffer commended <br />Chief Freeman for a recent incident wherein the Chief exercised <br />good public relations in offering his and the city's service <br />to a fax~i~y of vacationers passing through the City. <br />The Mayor ended the discussion by asking for <br />continued cooperation of all concerned, inviting their sugges- <br />tions to improve municipal services to the citizens. <br />~ -~ „- <br />2. <br />3. A group from the Recreation Association presented PROPOSED NEW <br />a plot plan, including a Community Building, Library, Tennis RECREATION <br />Court and Baseball field, to the Commission for its consideration CEPITER <br />and study. The group explained that the plot plan was tentative, <br />and. was presented as a suggestion for study. <br />'fie Commission accepted the plan with the assurance <br />that such a study would be considered in any future plans. <br />Commissioner Dunham expressed the appreciation <br />of the Commission for the interest and for the work being done <br />by various groups; the Recreation Association, Civic Clubs, <br />Library Board and others. <br /># ~ ~ <br />1~. Commissioner Dunham made a motion, seconded by ORDINANCE <br />Commissioner Brown, that Ordinance No. bli9, Adopting and Approving N0. 6l~9 <br />the rate schedules to be known as Schedule RS-2 and Schedule <br />MGS-2, be adopted. Motion carried. (Ordinance filed in Ordi- <br />nance Book.} <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CI`fY OF LA PORTS AND APPROVING THE RATE <br />SCHEDULES TO BE KNOWN AS SHEDULE RS-2 APJD SCHEDULE MGS-2 SET <br />FORTH IN EXHIBIT "A" AND EXHIBIT "B" AS ATTACHED HERETO AND <br />MADE A PART OF REFERENCE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />FOR SUCH RAISE OF RATES. <br />~: ~ ~ <br />5. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Dunham. that final payments amounting to seven <br />thousand, two hundred seventy-seven dollars and fifteen cents, <br />($ 7,277.15) plus an amount of ninety-nine dollars and thirty- <br />two cents, ($ 99.32) for extra work, be authorized to Coleman <br />Builders for their work on the new city jail construction. <br />Motion carried. <br />~~ ~ ~ <br />6.
