Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Osburn, that City Attorney be authorized to prepare <br />a contract between the City of La Porte and Mr. Bonnier, with <br />Bonnier Construction Company, for the mowing of the runways and <br />other property connected with the Municipal Airport and that Mr. <br />Bonnier would, in turn, receive the hay obtained from same. Further, <br />that a deposit would be placed with the City of La Porte, by Mr. <br />Sonnter, and if all agreements are complied with at the end of the <br />contracted time, the deposit will be returned to Mr. Bonnier. <br />Motion carried. <br />~ * ~ <br />8. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Osburn that Ordinance No. 695 be passed and <br />approved. Motion carried. Caption as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE ALTERING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS ESTABLISHED <br />FOR VEHICLES UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 6709D, VERNON'S TEXAS <br />CIVIL STATUTES, UPON THE BASIS OF AN ENGINEERING AND TRAFFIC INVEST- <br />/GAT/ON, OVER AND UPON STATE HIGHWAY 946 FROM MAIN STREET NORTH TO <br />THE NORTH CITY LlM/TS LINE, WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY <br />OF LA FbRTE, AS SET OUT IN THIS ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING A PENAL 7'Y <br />OF NOT LESS THAN ~ 90.00 NOR MORE THAN $ 200.00 FOR THE VIOLATION <br />OF THIS ORDINANCE. <br /> <br />9. Commissioner Stabs informed the Commission that <br />the new fire truck wns ready for deCtvery, and that the cost to <br />send a man to pick tt up would be around two hundred dollars, <br />(~ 200.00) and That this would enfttle him to one (9) week's <br />free tuition to Fireman's School. <br />Commissioner Stabs, requested also, that he be author- <br />ized by the Commission to promote two (2) of the Patrolmen to the <br />rank of Sargeant wtth an increase in pay of ten dollars (,~ 90.00) <br />per month for each. <br />Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Shepherd, that the City pay the two hundred dollars (,~ 200.00), <br />which will be reimbursed at the time of sale of the old fire truck, and <br />that he be authorized to promote two patrolmen fo the rank of <br />Sargeant, with an increase in pay for each often dollars, (,~ 90.00) <br />per month. Motion carried. <br /> <br />90. City Engineer Smith informed the Commission that <br />Richard Gates, a present employee, would replace Frank Adams <br />who is terminating March 95, as meter reader at a salary of three <br />hundred sixty dollars (,~ 360.00) per month.
