183 <br />4. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded <br />by Commissioner Baker, that the Public Works Department be <br />authorized the employment of two addittonal men for the <br />summer. Motion carried. <br />* * ~ <br />5. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded <br />by Commissioner Baker, that the Public Works Department be <br />authorized to purchase necessary laboratory testing equipment <br />for the Sewerage Disposal Plant, at approximately one hundred <br />eighty-two dollars, ~~ 182.00). Motion carried. <br /> <br />6. Mr. Walter Roberson, Chairman of the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission, informed the Commission that regular <br />meeting dates for the Planning and Zoning Commission have been set <br />for the second Monday of each month, at 7:30 p. m. He also <br />suggested a joint meeting with the Commission for Monday, May 11, <br />1964. <br />* * ~ <br />7. A request from the Diamond Jubilee Association <br />to display equipment on the streets and public rtght-of-ways <br />for the Diamond Jubilee Celebration was considered. Commissioner <br />Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, that the <br />request be denied. Motion carried. <br />* * ~ <br />8. A request from the Diamond Jubilee Association to <br />block off 200 and 300 blocks of Main Street on May 18, 1964, <br />at 4:00 p. m. to permit a street dance, in connection with the <br />Diamond Jubilee Association was considered. Commtssioner Osburn <br />made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that the request <br />be approved.
