• <br />3. Knox Askins, Special Legal Counseh was instructed <br />to advise Mrs. Roger A. Beane, P. 0. Box 231, <br />Petersburg, Virginia, that the City accepts the <br />donation of Lot 25, Block 8l~, La Porte, and that <br />he be authorized to execute necessary legal docu- <br />ments to transfer the deed. <br />+ + + <br />!~. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Baker that the penalty and interest <br />on a $ 250.00 promissory note, due the Gity from <br />T. E. Sprinkle and wife lbrothy Sprinkle, be <br />waived and further that upon receipt of $ 250.00, <br />the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute <br />releases for said note. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />5. A motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd, <br />seconded by Commissioner Baker, and carried, that <br />Kiibler and Kiibler Law Firm be paid their first <br />months retainer fee in advance, as requested. <br />+ + + <br />6. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Baker, that an offer made by A-1 <br />Addressing and Business Machine Company, to <br />buy Addressograph equipment ?~ rejected. Motion <br />carried. <br />+ + + <br />7. After a study of the tabulation of bids for Gas <br />and Oil, Commissioner Baker made a motion, <br />seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, that Gulf Oil <br />Corporation, P. 0. Box 8218, Houston, be awarded <br />the contract as per requirements, for the year. <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />8. The Mayor stated that Patrolman Charles Warrick <br />has volunterred to serve as Dog Catcher, on his <br />off duty hours. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, <br />seconded by Commissioner Shepherd that Warrick be <br />named Temporary Dog Catcher. The City will pay <br />him $ 1.25 per animal caught. He should. catch, <br />and take care of the animals until returned to <br />the owner, or disposed of. The City will provide <br />him a used truck, equipped with a radio. Further, <br />that Chief-Freeman be authorized to get bids on a <br />used truck, and new radio, and present them at <br />the next meeting. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />
