<br />5. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Shepherd that N. Carlos Smith, Lyman Cunningham, <br />and Harold Nunt be authorized to attend Water Works <br />School each night for two weeks starting September 7. <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />6. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Osburn and carried that the following Purchase <br />Orders be approved. <br />Highway Construction Company ,2,268.00 <br />Uvalde Kock Company 950.00 <br />+ + + <br />7. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton and seconded <br />by Commissioner Shepherd that payment to Kemp & Tony <br />for X302.32 be approved. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />8. The City Engineer presented the following bids for <br />the demolishing of the M & M Bar Buitdtng. <br />Olshan Demolishing Co, /nc. .1,288.00 <br />W. H. Heintschel 1,945.00 <br />Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Compton that the low bid be accepted. <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />9. A Public Hearing was held for the rezoning of La Porte <br />Outlots 72, 73, 74, 75, 83, 84, 85, 87, 88 and 89. <br />N. C. Wauson stated that the request had been for the <br />area to be rezoned from class "A" residential to class <br />"C" commercial or lighf industry. Ne further stated <br />thetr plans to bring in some type of light industry. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer declared the hearing closed and advised <br />Mr. Wauson that the Commission would reach a decision <br />in the near further. <br />+ + + <br />10. A Public Nearing was held for the rezoning of Block 6 <br />Nebraska Syndicate. L. R. Rigsby representing the <br />East Texas Theaters stated that they would like to <br />rezone the area from class "C" residential to Class <br />"C" commercial, in order to build a Drive-!n Movie. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer Declared the hearing closed. <br />+ + + <br />
