<br />CAPTION <br />AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE <br />PORTION OF WEST "A" STREET LYING W/THIN THE AREA <br />BOUNDED BY SOUTH TENTH STREET (90th) AND SOUTH <br />ELEVENTH STREET (99th), AND BETWEEN BLICK TWENTY* <br />S/X (26) AND BLOCK FORTY-SEVEN (47), IN THE TOWN OF <br />LA FORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. <br />+ + + <br />$. Robert J. Daniels, 409 North 6th, president of the <br />La Porte Community Service Club, appeared in behalf <br />of his group, requesting the City Commission to <br />establish Public Housing for La Porte. The City <br />Attorney was requested to investigate the requirements <br />for such a project. <br />+ + + <br />6. The City Clerk was authorized to make a survey of <br />other cities as to the cost charged for copies of <br />City doucments. <br />+ + + <br />7. The Commission discussed a policy establishing a <br />retirement age for City employees. The City Attorney <br />was requested to investigate the possibility of the <br />City partictpating in the Texas Municipal Retirement <br />System program. <br />+ + + <br />8. Commissioner Osburn made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Shepherd and carried that all City <br />employees be paid on a bi-weekly basis, effective <br />January 1, 1966. <br />+ + + <br />9~ A motion was made by Commissioner Osburn, seconded <br />by Commissioner Compton, that Knox Askins be paid <br />.1,898.57 for his percent of delinquent tax col- <br />lections in November. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />10. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Compton and carried that the following <br />accounts payable be approved: <br />Highway Construction Materials $1,238.80 <br />Highway Construction Materials 152.40 <br />White Supply Company 162.00 <br />Texas Municipal League 190.00 <br />+ + + <br />
