Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />RusseLi Shepherd, W. A. Stabs, Jr., and Lois J. Compton. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: Commissioner Tom W. Osburn. <br />OTNER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox Askins, City Engineer <br />H. Carlos Smith, Chief of Police H. F. Freeman, Judge George <br />Counts, Water Superintendent Lyman Cunningham, and City Clerk <br />Marilyn Kelley. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />9. Minutes of the regular meeting of April 98, 9966, and the <br />special meeting of April 27, 9966, were approved as written. <br />+ + + <br />2. Judge Counts administered the Oath of Office to Mayor H. P. <br />Pfeiffer, and Commissioners C. D. Boyle, and W. A. Stabs, Jr. <br />+ + + <br />3. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Boyle thaf the City dispatch a pickup truck to Houston, once <br />a month to pick up surplus commodities for the Welfare Board. <br />Mot ion carded. <br />+ + + <br />4. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded by Commissioner <br />Shepherd that the two Sargent positions in the Police Department <br />be dissolved and that Robert Hall be named Assistant Chief of <br />Police, salary .~ 550.00. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />- 5. Commissioner Stabs presented the following bids for a radar unit <br />for the Police Department: <br />George F. Cake Company $9,345.00 <br />Art Simon 990.00 <br />Action was tabled until the Police Commissioner has an opportunity <br />to inspect the unit. <br />+ + + <br /> <br />I <br />
