The City Attorney advised the Commission that he has examined a <br />certified copy of the deed to the Colored Community Cemetery, <br />Block 685, Town of La Porte, and found it to be in order. He <br />made the following recommendations: <br />That the City Clerk be authorized to take steps necessary <br />for the closing of the alley in Block 685. <br />Thaf a survey be made of the block and a plat of grave <br />sites be prepared, at City expense. <br />That the Association be requested to remove the bodies <br />from the street right-a-way, without City participation. <br />Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton that the city Engineer be authorized to make a survey <br />and set permanent corner monuments, and that the City Attorney <br />be authorized to assist with any legal work involved. Motion <br />carried. <br />+ + + <br />72. A motion was made by Commissioner Stabs, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton and carried That steps be taken to close the alley in <br />Block 685, Town of La Porte, and that the normal fees be waived. <br />+ + + <br />93. Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle <br />that the City Engineer be authorized to acquire an easement for water <br />and sewer Cines in Block 66, Bayfront.
