P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />W. A. Stabs, Lois J. Compton, Charles Boyle, and Russell Shepherd. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None <br />OTHER CITY OFFlC/ALS PRESENT: City Cierk Marilyn Kelley, City Attorney <br />Knox W. Askins, and City Engineer H. Carlos Smith. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />?. The minutes of the regular meeting of November 2?, ?966, were <br />approved as written. <br />+ + + <br />2. Mr. Kenneth Baird presented a letter requesting that the fee <br />charged him for weed cutting be waived, and that the weed ordinance <br />be repealed. (See Exhibit No. ?). Action was tabled for study. <br />+ + + <br />3. A bid for painting the water tank behind the La Porte State Bank <br />was received from La Porte Constructton Co., $625.00. (See Exhibif <br />No. 2). After constderabZe discussion, Commissioner Stabs recommended <br />thaf action be tabled. <br />Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs <br />that the City Engineer be authortzed to prepare and receive bids <br />for painting one coat of paint on the tank. Motton carried. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mr. Vtrgil Cowan stated that the Democratic Party paid for a <br />$6.00 Loud Speaker permit to encourage voters to vote in a <br />recent election. He further stated That since it was a public <br />service, he felt that the fee thould be refunded. <br />Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton That the fee be refunded, as the speaker was used for <br />the purpose of encourging people to vote.
