Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Stabs, and carried, that Ordinance No. 758 be passed on first <br />and final reading. <br />CAPTION: <br />AN ORDINANCE CALLING THE REGULA,4 ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTS; DESIGNATING AN ELECTION PRECINCT AND A POLLING PLACE; <br />PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF VOTING MACHINES; APPOINTING ELECTION <br />OFFICIALS; PROVIDING FOR METHOD AND DATES OF ABSENTEE VOTING; <br />PROVIDING FOR RETURN AND CANVASS OF VOTES OF SAID ELECTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; PROVIDING FU:4 F1LlNG DEADLINE AND FILING <br />FEES FO.R CAN/DA Tr: S; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />+ + + <br />6. A motion was made by Commissioner Shepherd and seconded by Commissioner <br />Boyle, that the Mayor be authorized to purchase approximately $2,500. <br />of materials for lighttng at the Little League Ballpark. Mottos <br />carried. <br />+ + + <br />7. The Gtty Engineer reported that the flat-wheel roller is in need <br />of repairs or replacing. He recommended that the unit be replaced <br />with a newer machine. The Commission authorized him to get prices <br />and pole the Commission. <br />+ + + <br />8. The City Engineer gave a detatted report on the drainage on <br />San Jacinto and Virginia Streets. After constderable discussion, <br />he was instructed to talk with the restdents involved and precede <br />with the ditch clean-out program. <br />+ + + <br />9. A special meeting was called for 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 27, <br />to discuss a new Water and Sewer Line Extension policy. <br />+ + + <br />70. The City Engineer presented cost on fire hydrant extensions from <br />Utility Supply Company and Municipal Pipe and Fabricating Company. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, and seconded by Commissioner <br />Stabs, that the extensions be purchased from the tow bidder, Municipal <br />Pipe and Fabricating Company. Further that the cost be paid from <br />Bond Funds. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />
