A letter from the Harris County Navigation District approving <br />the City of La Porte's use of 15 acres withtn the Spilman Island <br />Spoil Ground for sanitary land fill, was presented. (See Echibtt <br />No. 1). <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot and carried, that the City accept the terms as presented, <br />and that bids for the necessary dirt work be received at 4:00 P. M., <br />October 18, 1968. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />11. Commissioner Crofoot made a mottos, seconded by Commissioner Compton <br />that the hiring of Courtland Prentiss Alyea be ratified. ($375.00 <br />per month). Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />12. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot and carried, that the purchase of two piasttc acid tanks, approx. <br />cost .110.00, be approved. <br />+ + + <br />13. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton, <br />that the water meter repair shop be enlarged 12' X12', approx. cost <br />X300.00 labor and materials. Motion carded. <br />+ + + <br />14. A mottos was made by Commissioner Compton, seconded by Commissioner <br />Boyle and carried, that bids for the purchase of a Garbage Truck, <br />and Hoist be received at 4:00 P. M., November 1, 1968. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />15. Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle <br />and carried, that the following Resolutions be approved on first <br />and final reading: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 68-70 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORl2/NG THE CITY OF LA PORTS TO BORROW THE SUM OF TWENTY <br />THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOI._LARS (.20,000.00), TO BE EVIDENCED BY TAX <br />ANTICIPATION NOTE, PAYABLE OUT OF CURRENT TAKES COLLECTED DURING THE <br />FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1968 and ENDING JUNE 30, 1969. (Buyshore <br />Nattonal Bank). <br />
