A motion was made by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by <br />Commissioner Compton, that the date for opening the Jail <br />Extension Bids be extended until 4:00 P.M., October 98, 9965. <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />8. Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot, that the Levee Dirt Work bids be extended until <br />4:00 P.M., October 25, 9968. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />9. A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot, that the City of La Porte extend the Sack Refuse System <br />of collectton to the residents on a voluntary basis with the <br />following provisions: <br />(9) The City will furntsh the holders, but will require <br />that a X62.50 deposit be made for each. <br />(2) The stands will be sold on an optional basis, for <br />the City's cost of $3.50 each. <br />(3) Bags will be sold for $.92 each, and may be purchased <br />at the City Hall. <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />90. Commissioner Burgin made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton, that the City Engineer be authorized to hire <br />E. P. Brantley to lay 400 sq. yards of 9" asphalt at an approximate <br />cost of X1.08 a sq. yard, on the intersections of the newly paved <br />streets.
