M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor Pro-Tem Bobby J. Burgin, <br />Commissioners Charles D. Boyle, H. Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CQMMISSION ABSENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, and <br />Commissioner Lois J. Compton. <br />OTHER C/TY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, City <br />Attorney Knox W. Ask ins, and City Clerk Marilyn Kelley. <br />PRES10/NG: Mayor Pro-Tem Burgin. <br />+ + + <br />9. A motion was made by Commissioner Crofoot and seconded by <br />Commissioner Boyle, that the Commission authorize the City <br />Attorney to prepare a resolution requesting the Texas <br />Highway Commission to continue to maintain State Highway 946, <br />as the same is presently located from Spencer Highway to <br />Shoreacres, as a part of the State Highway System, as a Business <br />Route into the Ctty of La Porte. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />2. A recommendation front the Planning and zoning Commission <br />regarding Dan Moody's request to re-zone the Bay Meadows <br />Sub-division, was presented. (See Exhtbit No. 9). <br />Commissioner Boyle Trade a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot, that the Commission reject the request to re- <br />zone said property from R9 Residential to Commercial. <br />Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />3. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, ~conded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot, that_ the City Attorney be authorized to prepare <br />a Garbage Rate Ordinance establishing a fee of $ 9.50 per <br />unit, including apartments and trailer parks, and making <br />provisions for units using containers to be billed on time <br />study as needed.
