Pfeiffer, Commtssioners (MEMBERS <br />E. A. Thomas, Charles D. Boyle, Bobby J. Burgin and H.Gould Crofoot. PRESENT <br />MEMBERS OF THE CQMMISSION ABSENT: None. MEMBERS <br />ABSENT <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P. V. Werner, City Administrator; Virginia OTHER CITY <br />Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; Robert Cline, Director <br />of Public Works and H.F.Freeman, Chief of Police. OFFICIALS <br />PRESENT <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. Ipf2ESIDlNG <br />+ + + <br />1. Minutes of the regular meeting of October 27, 1969 were approved MINUTES <br />with the following amendment: APPROVED <br />ITEM NO. 3 - amended to read "Final cost of the paving program <br />was X31, 836.13.." <br />+ + + <br />2. Motion was made by Commissioner Burgin„ seconded by Commissioner WEED LIEN <br />Crofoot that the weed Zien against Lot 15, Block 719 be removed. REMOVED <br />Commissioner Boyle abstained from voting. Motion canted. <br />f + + <br />3. viscussion was held on collecting occupation taxes on vending COLLECTING <br />machines, juke boxes, cigarette machines and cabarets. Mr. Askins TAXES ON <br />stated the Ctfy could collect one-half(1/2) of the fee set by COIN MACHINE` <br />the state. Acfion was tabled pending further study. <br />Discussion was held on garbage fees charged to trailer parks. TRAILER PARK <br />Mr. Werner stated the owners of trailer parks are paying $1.5Q GARBAGE FEES <br />per trailer, per month. Also the question of how trailer owne~s A"ND TAXES <br />are taxed was discussed. Mr. Askins was asked to furnish the tdx---- -' <br />office with a letter of legal opinion. <br />Commissioner Thomas asked why the garbage containers at Sylvan GARBAGE <br />Beach Park were allowed to remain in the Park during months CONTAINERS <br />that the Park did not pay for fhe service. Mayor Pfeiffer AT SYLVAN <br />suggested that Mr. Thomas and P;~r. Werner meet with Mr. Randolph, BEACH PARK <br />Director of Sylvan Beach Park, to discuss a solution to the <br />question. <br />+ + + <br />4. Discussion was held on making adjustments on water bills. The ADJUSTMENT C; <br />Commission agreed there was no fair way to give adjustments and WATER BILLS <br />any water registered through a meter must be paid for. <br />+ + + i <br />
