Harold Pfeiffer <br />Mayor <br />City of LaPorte <br />LaPorte, Texas <br />Dear Mr. Pfeiffer: <br />PHONE 222-1121 <br />October 27, 1969 <br />File: <br />348.2 s <br />Please be referred to resolution by Commissioners of the <br />City of LaPorte dated September 22, 1969, relative to passing <br />ordinance authorizing closing of certain streets necessary <br />for acquisition of property and construction of a small sup- <br />porting train yard ad,~acent to Southern Pacific main track be- <br />tween Spencer Highway and Strang. <br />Southern Pacific Company is willing to meet the following <br />• conditions: <br />1. Southern Pacific will, at its expense, install <br /> flashing lights and gates at Spencer Highway and <br /> Fairmont Parkway. <br />2. When automatic switching system is installed, <br /> Southern Pacific is willing to install a fence <br /> along the east, south and north sides of yard <br /> property. <br />3. Southern Pacific agrees to remove and replace <br /> tracks at its expense for installation of sewer <br /> and/or water line crossings in switch yard area. <br />4. Southern Pacific will not charge City fees for <br /> easements across said property for purpose of <br /> installing sewer and/or water line crossing. <br />5. Southern Pacific agrees that location of ease- <br /> ments shall be at option of City without inter- <br /> ference with automatic switching equipment. <br />6. Southern Pacific agrees that equipment installed <br />after first two tracks are laid shall be of <br />economatic design similar to Beaumont. <br />• <br />s-z <br />
