<br />8. Motion by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by <br />Commissioner Crofoot to hire Mr. James Gawlik, <br />Architect, to prepare plans for an addition <br />to the Northside Community Building. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Burgin <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />9. Discussion was held on the street sweeping program. <br />Mr. Werner stated he had received figures from two <br />companies for sweeping streets. Commerical Street <br />Sweeping charges $7.00 per curbed mile and Overnight <br />Maintenance Service charges $5.00 per curbed mile <br />and there are approximately 28 miles of curbed streets <br />within the:,city. <br />Mayor Smith stated the cost of a street sweeper was <br />approximately $12,000 plus the cost of operation. <br />Motion by Commissioner Burgin, seconded by <br />Commissioner Crofoot that the City contract with <br />Overnight Maintenance Service for sweeping the <br />streets at $5.00 per curbed mile. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Burgin <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />10. Motion by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by <br />Commissioner Crofoot that action be tabled <br />on the request of Mr. Frank R. Boyle, Sr. <br />to close the alley in Block 95 until Mr. <br />Boyle complies with Ordinance No. 733. <br />Motion carried by the following; vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Burgin <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />11.
