3 <br />8. Mayor Smith read a letter from Kiibler and <br />Kiibler Law Firm in regard to application <br />made to County Commissioners Court by Mr. R. G. <br />Florance for the abandonment of a portion of <br />old Highway 225. <br />Mayor Smith stated there is nothing the City can <br />do about this until the Commissioners Court <br />submits an ordinance on abandonment of this <br />portion of the roadway. <br />+ + + <br />g. Motion by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by <br />Commissioner Burgin to approve payment of <br />X8,343.43 to Layne Texas Company on estimate <br />No. 3 on the well in Fairmont Park. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Kibodeaux, Burgin and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: Commissioner Thomas <br />+ + + <br />10. A lenghtly discussion was held on enforcing <br />various ordinances. Also discussed was the <br />matter of filling in deep ditches in the <br />newly annexed territory to the South. It <br />was agreed that a workshop should be held <br />on these matters. <br />+ + + <br />11. Motion by Commissioner Crofoot seconded by <br />Commissioner Burgin allowing Dan Kennedy <br />X150.00 for expenses to attend plumbing <br />school for 3 days in Austin. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Burgin <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />There being no further business at hand, the meeting <br />was adjourned. <br /> <br />t est: H.
