Mayor Smith read correspondence from <br />Mr. Art Busch, Republican Candidate for <br />Congress, in which Mr. Busch requested a <br />meeting with Mayor Smith and members of <br />the Commission. <br />The Commission agreed that Mr. Busch's <br />request to meet with them as a governing <br />body should be denied, but Mr. Busch was <br />welcome to meet with them individually. <br />+ + + <br />5. Motion by Commissioner Thomas, seconded <br />by Commissioner Burgin that the Mayor be <br />authorized to sign the contract with <br />Commerical Street Sweeping Service, sub- <br />ject to the amount of insurance being <br />stated in the contract. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas,Kibodeaux, and <br />Burgin. <br />NAYS: None. <br /> <br />6. Discussion was held <br />charged to the City <br />IItility District. <br />+ + <br />on water rates being <br />by Bayshore Municipal <br />Mayor Smith stated Bay Muds offer to the <br />City would be 1-1/4 times the rate for <br />water charged to customers within the <br />District. <br />Motion by Commissioner Thomas, seconded <br />by Commissioner gibodeaux to table action <br />pending further study.
