~ ~ i <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA .PORTS, TEXAS <br />JANUARY 22, 1971 <br />5:0o P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. Carlos Smith, <br />Commissioners E. A. Thomas, I. J. Kibodeaux, Bobby J. Burgin <br />and H. Gould Crofoot(Comm. Burgin arrived at 6:00 P.M.). <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P.V.Werner, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; <br />Robert Cline, Director of Public Works and H. F. Freeman, <br />Chief of Police. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Smith. <br />+ + + <br />1. Mr. Ed Barlow, Consulting Engineer, addressed the <br />Commission in regards to the work being done on <br />the sewer plant. Mr. Barlow advised the Commission <br />of the need for an Industrial Waste Ordinance. <br />Mayor Smith stated an ordinance was being prepared, <br />but until such time as it could be completed, a <br />Resolution would be passed at the next regular <br />Commission meeting declaring the City's intent to <br />pass an Industrial Waste Ordinance. <br />Mr. Barlow stated he had prepared a letter pertaining <br />to the development of the County Club Mobile Home <br />Park and would like for the Commission to take action <br />on it at the next regular meeting. <br />+ + + <br />2. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Thomas <br />to pay David Bramlett three C3) weeks vacation pay. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />• <br />
