• • <br />Regular Meeting 6/7/71 - continued <br />• 3. Comm. Sampson stated the baseball program was <br />not able to operate without additional funds <br />to pay for the lighting of the fields and he <br />felt that the cost could be shared equally <br />by each department. <br />Comm. Thomas stated the Commission had previously <br />agreed to give the Neighborhood Center 3650 to <br />to use for the baseball program and he did not <br />feel the City could legally spend any more money <br />on the baseball program. <br />Motion by Comm. Sampson, seconded by Comm. Crofooot <br />that as of June 1, 1971 the cost of lighting the <br />baseball fields be split amoung all city depart- <br />ments. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Kibodeaux, Sampson and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: Commissioner Thomas. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mayor Smith read the contract from George J. Prappas <br />for collecting delinquent taxes for the City of <br />• La Porte . <br />Motion by Comm.Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Crofoot <br />to accept the contract as read. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />5. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Sampson <br />to approve payment of X521.12 to Pfeiffer-Gambrell <br />Electric company for damages to an air compressor <br />the City had rented from the company. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />• 6. Mayor Smith stated contracts for ambulance service, <br />fire protection, radio dispatching and recreation <br />with the area cities of Lomax, Shoreacres and <br />Morgans Point had been offered by the City of <br />La Porte. <br /> <br />
