Regular Meeting ']/26/'71 - continued <br />• AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux and Sampson. <br />NAYS: None. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Crofoot. <br />+ + + <br />5. Comm. Kibodeaux proposed the following rates, <br />based on the amount of water consumption, for <br />monthly sewer charges: <br />Up to 3,000 gallons of water $1.~5 <br />Between 3,000 and 6,000 gals. 2.50 <br />Between 6,000 and 10,000 gals. 3.00 <br />Over 10,000 gallons 4.00 <br />Comm. Kibodeaux seabed the proposed rate change <br />would eliminate the flat rate of $1.25 plus the <br />35 percent of the water bill, and was designed <br />to help both the low and high water user. <br />The Commission discussed the amount of revenue <br />needed to maintain the 1.5 ratio necessary for <br />• bonding requirements and asked Mr. GJerner to <br />prepare a cost comparison of the new and. old <br />sewer rates. <br />Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded b,y Comm. Sampson <br />that Mr. Askins be authorized to prepare an ordinance <br />on sewer rate change, conditioned on the study of <br />the income produced. Motion carried by the follow- <br />ing vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux and Sampson. <br />NAYS: None. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Crofoot. <br />+ + + <br />6. Motion by Comm. Thomas, seconded by Comm. Kibodeaux <br />to approve Mr. Kennedy attending building inspection <br />school at A & M on August 9th thru 13th at city <br />expense. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux and Sampson. <br />NAYS: None. <br />• ABSENT: Commissioner Crofoot. <br /> <br />+ + + <br />
