~ i <br />Regular Meeting 9/27/71 - continued <br />• GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF LA RTE, TEXAS, FOR THE <br />FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1971 AND ENDING <br />SEPTEMBER 30, 1972, AND LEVYING A TAX OF $ .92 ON <br />EACH $100.00 OF ASSESSED VALUE OF ALL REAL AND <br />PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN SAID CITY. <br />+ + + <br />2. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Thomas <br />to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of <br />September 13, 1971 as presented. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />3. Mr. J. L. Rivard addressed the Commission in regards <br />• to the city designating November 7 as Head Start <br />Sunday to lend moral assistance to a two month fund <br />rasing drive by the Human Development Committee <br />to raise funds to move the building for the Day <br />Care Center. <br />Mayor Smith stated he would be glad to issue a <br />Proclamation proclaming November 7, 1971 as <br />Head Start Sunday. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mr. and Mrs. James Tyler addressed the Commission <br />to request action to control horses that have been <br />trespassing on their property and also questioned <br />the legality of electric fences being erected in <br />the City. <br />The Commission asked the City Attorney to prepare <br />an Ordinance regarding electric fences and also <br />to study stock ordinances from other cities. <br />+ + + <br />• 5. Mr. Bill Love addressed the Commission to request <br />the city to study the need for street lights in <br />the Oyster Bay area. <br />+ + + <br />z <br />
