• • ~ <br />Regular Meeting 10/2/72 - continued <br />• <br />2. Motion by Comm. Christensen, seconded by Comm. <br />Kibodeaux to approve the accounts payable as <br />presented, a copy of which is attached to and <br />made a part of these minutes. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux <br />and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Sampson. <br />+ + + <br />3. Mr. A. Uel Price, President of the Fairmont Park <br />Homes Association, addressed the Commission in <br />regards to the sewer rates charged by the city. <br />Mr. Price stated the sewer charge was unfair as <br />it penalized those persons who water their yards <br />and urged the Commission to find a better way <br />to apply the charge. <br />• + + + <br />4. Mayor Thomas stated Mr. Aker was now present <br />and the Planning and Zoning Commission had a <br />quorum, therefore he would call the Public <br />Hearing to consider the rezoning of the West <br />Half of Block 1171, West Half of Block 1182, <br />East Half of Block 1174, East Half of Block 1179 <br />and all of Blocks 1172, 1173, 1180 and 1181 <br />from Residential to Commercial. <br />It was ascertained that a notice of this <br />hearing was published in the official news- <br />paper of the city on September 21, 1972 and <br />that a written notice of the hearing had been <br />sent to all property owners within two hundred <br />(200) feet of the property in question. <br />Mayor Thomas stated that the rule would be that <br />all proponents would be permitted to speak first, <br />then any opponents would be permitted to speak. <br />A discussion of the location of the property <br />• was held and Mayor Thomas pointed out the blocks <br />
