Boyle stated that he had contacted <br />several area cities in regards to clothing <br />allowances for detectives on their forces <br />and from this study his recommendation was <br />to allow Detective Green $300.00 a year <br />clothing allowance. <br />Mayor Thomas asked Comm. Boyle if the $300 <br />for Det. Green's clothing was to come from <br />the $1,800 budgeted for police uniforms and <br />Comm. Boyle stated yes, that hhe money was <br />there. <br />Mayor Thomas informed Comm. Boyle that he <br />did not appreciate this item not being put <br />on the agenda as it should have been and <br />asked Comm. Boyle about the policemen re- <br />ceiving $100 a month for driving the ambulances. <br />Comm. Boyle stated he had a motion on the floor, <br />to which Mayor Thomas replied the motion did <br />not have a second.. <br />Mayor Thomas asked Mr. Askins for a ruling <br />• on all items to be acted on being put on the <br />agenda first. <br />Mr. Askins stated he would like to have time <br />to prepare an opinion on the matter and <br />apologized for not being able to rule on it <br />at this time. <br />Comm. Kibodeaux stated to keep all this little <br />nitty gritty stuff out and he thought there <br />was too much fighting and bickering going on, <br />that if Comm. Boyle would make a motion to place <br />this item on the agenda for the next meeting, <br />he would second the motion. <br />Motion by Comm. Boyle, seconded by Comm. <br />Kibodeaux that the clothing allowance <br />for Detective Green be placed on the agenda <br />for the next meeting of December 4, 1972. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Sampson and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />• <br />+ + + <br />.~ <br />Comm.
