Hewitt, Commander of the 272nd <br />Electronic Installations Squadron, presented <br />certificates of appreciation for patriotic <br />service rendered to the National Guard of <br />Texas to Mayor Thomas, Chief of Police, <br />H. F. Freeman and Director of Public Works, <br />Robert Cline. <br />7. Mrs. Ellen McLean presented an invitation to <br />Mayor Thomas and members of the Commission <br />to attend a meeting on recycling, June 27, <br />1973 at 7:30 p.m., at the Civic Center. <br />8. Mrs. Antonio Pena addressed the Commission in <br />regards to city sewer service to residents <br />along S. 16th Street. Mrs. Pena stated there <br />were some 20 families residing in the area <br />that needed sewer service. She stated that <br />raw sewage was overflowing in the ditches and <br />in areas where small children play and the <br />residents were requesting the city for sewer <br />service. <br />Comm. Kibodeaux assured Mrs. Pena that he would <br />check the area and see what could be done. <br />9. Motion by Comm. Christensen,seconded by Comm. <br />Kibodeaux to approve payment of $1,500.00 <br />to Mr. Clinton Owsley for consulting service <br />in connection with the Southwestern Bell <br />Telephone Company rate increase case. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />Maj. Hewitt <br />presents <br />certificates of <br />appreciation to <br />Mayor Thomas, <br />Chief Freeman & <br />Mr. Cline. <br />Mayor & Comm. <br />invited to attend <br />meeting on <br />recycling program. <br />Residents of S.16t <br />request city sewer <br />service. <br />Payment to <br />Clinton Owsley fo, <br />telephone rate <br />increase study <br />approved. <br />
