Price, seconded by Comm. <br />Christensen to approve the accounts payable <br />as presented, a copy of which is attached <br />to and made a part of these mintues. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />~ + + <br />Approval of <br />Accounts <br />Payable <br />3. Mr. Busch stated the bids received for the Contract <br />eight inch water line extension along Spencer Awarded for <br />Highway to the airport had been tabulated and g inch water <br />reviewed by the Mayor and Commission at the line to the <br />work shop of October 25, 1973, and his recommenda- Airport <br />tion was to award the contract to the low bidder, <br />South Coastal Construction, in the amount of <br />$24,061.00. <br />• Mr. Askins stated he had verified with Major Gov. agrees <br />Hewett that the Government had approved the to pay one- <br />contracts and agreed to their cost being third of <br />$7,218.30, which is one-third of the bid cost <br />price and that written confirmation was in <br />route and should be received by the City <br />within the next few days. <br />Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. <br />Price to award the contract to the low bidder, <br />South Coastal Construction, and that the <br />Mayor be authorized to sign,and the City <br />Clerk to attest, the contracts when the <br />Contractor has furnished the proper performance <br />bond. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mayor Thomas stated the City of La Porte Workman's <br />. had been self-insured for Workman's Compen- Compensation <br />sation Insurance, but under the new law (S.B.283) <br />
