~ ~ <br />• <br />Regular Meeting 11/5/73 - continued <br />9. Mr. Askins reported the Ronald Dean Moore <br />law suit against the City of La Porte and <br />J. E. Cook had been settled on October 31, <br />1973 between the Moores and Mr. Cook's <br />insurance company. Mr. Askins stated <br />there were no findings against the City <br />of La Porte and the judgement ruled the City <br />will not be held liable. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />10. Mayor Thomas stated that Mr. J. E. Cook <br />has fences across several street and <br />recommended that Mr. Cook be notified by <br />certified mail to take the fences down. <br />Motion by Comm. Price, seconded by Comm. <br />Christensen to notify Mr. Cook by certified <br />mail that he has ten (10) days to take the <br />fences down. Motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />NAYS: Commissioners Chirstensen, Kibodeuax, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />11. Comm. Christensen stated the Civic Center <br />building needed re-roofing but plans and <br />specifications needed to be prepared to <br />take bids. <br />Motion by Comm. Christensen, seconded by Comm. <br />Kibodeaux to authorize the City Engineer <br />to prepare specifications for re-roofing <br />the Civic Center building.
