• <br />• Regular Meeting 2/4/74 - continued <br />Mayor Thomas stated the city's present supplier, <br />Gulf Oil, had notified Mr. Broussard that as of <br />midnight, January 31, 1974, they would no longer <br />be the city's supplier, even tho they were under <br />contract until February 28, 1974 and after talking <br />to Mr. Archer with Gulf Oil in Houston, he and <br />Mr. Broussard made a trip to Dallas and met with <br />officials of the Federal Energy Office. He stated <br />they were told that Arco was assigned to be the <br />city's supplier, and a call was made to Arco's <br />office in California and they were told that <br />Arco was protesting the assignment and did not <br />plan to supply the City of La Porte. The Energy <br />Office then contacted Gulf Oil in Houston and <br />Gulf said they would continue to supply La Porte <br />for the month of February, but would protest <br />if given the La Porte assignment. Mayor Thomas <br />stated the Federal Energy Office had requested <br />until February 11, 1974 to find a supplier for <br />the city for 1974. <br />• <br />+ + + <br />2. PUBLIC HEARING ON REVENUE SHARING BUDGET <br />Mayor Thomas stated Revenue Sharing Funds <br />received for 1973 was $114,266.00, interest <br />received from certificates of deposit was <br />$4,970.03 making a total of $119,236.03 to <br />be budgeted. <br />Mayor Thomas stated his recommendation for the <br />expenditure of the money would be for water and <br />sewer line repairs and/or construction. This <br />money to be expended on recent contracts with <br />McKey Construction Company, which was awarded <br />at our January 21, 1974 meeting in the amount <br />of $94,071.00 with approximately $2,000.00 <br />being added for an eight inch water line instead <br />of a six inch water line at Spur 501 South and <br />Vicinity. The balance of the money to be used <br />toward the final payment of Northside water <br />and sewer projects. <br />Mayor Thomas asked if there was anyone wishing <br />Mayor Thomas <br />reports on <br />meeting with <br />Federal Energy <br />Commission <br />Public Hearing <br />on expenditure <br />of Revenue <br />Sharing Funds <br />Funds budgeted <br />for water & <br />sewer lines <br />• <br />
