~ • • <br />Regular Meeting 2/21/74 - continued <br />• <br />that trucks of the 50,000 to 60,000 pound <br />class were tearing the street up and he <br />would hate to see N. 16th in the condition <br />as S. 16th now is and because the county <br />is not maintaining the street,it will soon <br />be in bad condition. He asked the Commission <br />to consider lowering the load limit or rerouting <br />the trucks. <br />Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Approval for <br />Price to have Chief Freeman and Mr. Cline Chief Freeman <br />make a study and survey of the trucks & Mr. Cline to <br />traveling on N. 16th and to report their survey trucks <br />findings to the Commission for further action. on N. 16th St. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />8. Mr. Ernest Brown Fiscal A ent for the Cit <br />g Y Ernest Bro <br />wn <br />of La Porte, stated that his contract with ask for renewl <br />the city was due to be renewed and that he of contract & <br />could see no problems in renewing the contract. City to sell <br /> bonds for <br />Mr. Brown asked the Commission to consider industries <br />selling bonds for industries for air pollution <br />control facilities, which the State of Texas <br />has authorized in some areas. He stated the <br />City of Deer Park had recently sold bonds for <br />the Rohm and Haas Company and explained that <br />selling the bonds for industries is done <br />without any cost to the city. He asked that <br />a work shop be held to discuss this one item. <br />Motion by Comm. Price, seconded by Comm. Mr. Brown's <br />Kibodeaux to table Mr. Brown's request for request tabled <br />additional study. Motion carried by the for additional <br />following vote : study <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />• + + + <br />
