<br />• <br />~ ~ <br />Regular Meeting 2/21/74 - continued <br />Mr. Sharp addressed the Commission and <br />apologized for the delay in signing the <br />letter, but stated he was still not satisfied <br />with the survey, for in his investigation <br />he fould some maps that showed the street <br />to be 100 feet wide and some showed it to be <br />80 feet wide. <br />+ + + <br /> <br />16. Mayor Thomas announced there would be a <br />public hearing regarding the Clear Lake <br />Water Authority on March 22, 1974 and that <br />he, Mr. Busch and Mr. Cline would attend, <br />also that Mr. Schultz of the Texas Highway <br />Department had requested a meeting at 10:00 <br />a.m., on February 25, 1974 to discuss problem <br />areas and future plans. <br />Mr. Sharp address= <br />Commission <br />Mayor reads <br />correspondence <br />Public hearing <br />with TWQB re: <br />sewer treatment <br />Mayor Thomas read correspondence from Mr. Ronald Stop sign at <br />McCowen requesting the stop sign at Valley Brook Valley Brook & <br />and Catlett Lane be put back up. Catlett <br />Chief Freeman stated he would do another survey <br />at the intersection to determine if a stop sign <br />or pedestrian crossing sign is needed. <br />Comm. Christensen reported that he and Comm. Report from <br />Kibodeaux did not feel that they could make Committee re: <br />a recommendation on the need for another nursing need for addit' <br />home in La Porte, as they were not expertise nursing home <br />in this field to know if one is needed or not. <br />U <br />Comm. Christensen reported that he had meet with <br />Mrs. Meadows and felt that the City could help <br />with the recycling program by renting a container <br />of 30,000 pound capacity for the collection <br />of newspapers. The container will be placed at <br />the Public Works and picked up twice a month <br />and depending on the participation, the rent of <br />$45.00 per month could be paid for and proceeds <br />could go to the Library fund. <br />Comm.
